decreased -6.3% over the course of the past six years, a reflection of<br />
declining student enrollment, while the organization’s six year trend in<br />
expenditures grew a paltry +3.7%, assisted by repeated General Fund<br />
budget reductions.<br />
The <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce’s local contributions to the support of the<br />
General Fund budget increased over the most recent six years, while the<br />
State of Wisconsin’s contributions improved only minimally. Ladysmith-<br />
Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District’s local contributions to support its General Fund<br />
budget only moderately increased over the most recent six years, while the<br />
State of Wisconsin’s contributions increased by nearly a quarter of a million<br />
dollars. Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District’s local contributions to support<br />
the General Fund budget significantly increased, while the State of<br />
Wisconsin’s support of the school district diminished at a staggering rate.<br />
The <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce’s total expenditure/student and total<br />
instructional expenditure/student in 2006-07 exceeded such spending<br />
levels in the average of all State of Wisconsin school districts, and the rate<br />
of expenditure growth in the <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce clearly outstripped<br />
such expenditures in the average of all State of Wisconsin school districts<br />
over the ten year span of time from 1996-97 through 2006-07. Ladysmith-<br />
Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District’s total expenditure/student exceeded by a sizeable<br />
margin such expenditures in the average of all State of Wisconsin school<br />
districts in 2006-07, and the school district’s rate of total<br />
expenditure/student growth significantly outstripped that of the average of<br />
all State of Wisconsin school districts. Conversely, Ladysmith-Hawkins<br />
<strong>School</strong> District only slightly outspent the average of all State of Wisconsin<br />
