At the conclusion of the 2006-07 school year, the fund balance in the<br />
average of all State of Wisconsin school districts ($3,727/student)<br />
exceeded the fund balance of Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District<br />
($1,081/student) by +$2,646/student or +244.8%.<br />

The Project Consultants concluded that, while Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong><br />
District’s fund balance increased modestly from 1996-97 through 2006-07,<br />
the average of all State of Wisconsin school districts’ fund balance<br />
increased at a significantly greater rate. Indeed, the Project Consultants<br />
observed that the fund balance disparity between Ladysmith-Hawkins<br />
<strong>School</strong> District and the average of all State of Wisconsin school districts<br />
had more than doubled. The Project Consultants compliment the<br />
leadership of Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District on preserving (and<br />
