4.11 Staff Development<br />
The Project Consultants discussed with the Principals of the <strong>School</strong> District<br />
of Bruce, Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District, and Weyerhaeuser Area<br />
<strong>School</strong> District the presence of and priorities for staff development/inservice<br />
training during the 2008-09 organizational year. Principals readily<br />
identified their school districts’ staff development priorities.<br />
The <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce’s staff development priorities for 2008-09 were<br />
identified as reading, mathematics, school safety, and State of Wisconsin<br />
test score analyses.<br />
Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District Principals identified the organization’s<br />
2008-09 staff development priorities as curriculum mapping, curriculum<br />
alignment, and analysis and application of State of Wisconsin test data.<br />
Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District’s 2008-09 staff development focuses<br />
included Response To Intervention (RTI) and goal-setting.<br />
4.12 Teaching Methodologies and Delivery Systems<br />
The Project Consultants interviewed the District Administrators, Principals,<br />
<strong>School</strong> Board members, and—on a random basis—select classroom<br />
teachers in the <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce, Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District,<br />
and Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District, toured the school districts’<br />
facilities, and observed the delivery of instructional programs and services<br />
and the school districts’ methodologies to determine the prevailing<br />
instructional methodologies and delivery systems.<br />
