The <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce, Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District, and<br />

Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District have experienced student<br />

enrollment decline in recent years and, unless countervailing<br />

measures are instituted, will continue to experience enrollment<br />

decline in the future.<br />

The <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce, Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District, and<br />

Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District—as a result of their small critical<br />

student masses and current/future student enrollment decline—have<br />

begun to display (or significantly display) evidence of<br />

cost/ineffectiveness.<br />

The <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce, Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District, and<br />

Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District maintain a quality array of<br />

programs and services for their pre-school, school-aged, and adult<br />

populations.<br />

The <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce, Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District, and<br />

Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District engage in minimal program,<br />

service, staffing, and other collaboration and cooperation.<br />

The <strong>School</strong> District of Bruce, Ladysmith-Hawkins <strong>School</strong> District, and<br />

Weyerhaeuser Area <strong>School</strong> District have substantial differences in<br />

school organization, communities, staffing, programs, services, and<br />

other components which may have a bearing on one or more of the<br />

school district’s willingness to participate in a consolidation endeavor.<br />
