About 250 g of seeds is required <strong>in</strong> one hectare eggplant production. Prepare soil mix<br />

(generally 2:1:1 soil: sand: compost). Sterilize mixture by drench<strong>in</strong>g boil<strong>in</strong>g water or<br />

burn<strong>in</strong>g rice hull on the bed. Allow the soil to cool off before sow<strong>in</strong>g. Sow seeds at the<br />

rate of approximately five seeds per l<strong>in</strong>ear centimeter or ten grams of seeds per square<br />

meter and cover lightly with soil.<br />
