Janez Podlesek was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia
in 1981. He began studying violin aged
seven years with Professor Hervin Jakončič
at the Music school in Domžale. He continued
his studies at the Music and ballet secondary
school in Ljubljana under Professor
Dušanka Stražar. In 1999 he was awarded
with the Škerjanec prize. Janez Podlesek
studied violin at the Academy of Music in
Ljubljana, under Professor Primož Novšak,
who was also his mentor during Janez’s
postgraduate studies. Janez perfected his
playing with Leonid Sorokov, Helfried Fister,
Ilan Gronich and Tomaž Lorenz. He won
numerous awards at music competitions in
Ljubljana, Zagreb and Gorizia. Janez Podlesek
was awarded the Student Prešeren
prize of the Academy of Music twice during
his studies. He’s an active member of the
Clavimerata Trio, with which he recorded
three records. He regularly cooperates
with renowned Slovene and foreign musicians,
like Arvid Engegård, wind quintet
Slowind, Mirjam Kalin … Since September
2004 Janez Podlesek is concert master of
the Symphony Orchestra of the Slovene
Philharmonics and of the String Chamber
Orchestra of the Slovene Philharmonics. As
member of the String Chamber Orchestra
he was awarded the Betteto award in 2006.
Ognjen Popović
Ognjen Popović se je rodil leta 1977 v
Pančevu, Srbija, kjer je obiskoval nižjo in
srednjo glasbeno šolo. Leta 1999 je pod
vodstvom profesorja Ulfa Rodenhäuserja
diplomiral na Akademiji za glasbo v Stuttgartu,
dve leti kasneje pa pridobil magisterij
na Akademiji za glasbo v Münchnu.
Kot solist ali član komornih ansamblov je
nastopil že po vsem svetu. V svoji karieri
je Ognjen sodeloval že z Münchensko
filharmonijo, Evropskim komornim orkestrom,
Beograjsko filharmonijo, Radijskim
orkestrom Valencia, akademskima
orkestroma iz Münchna in Stuttgarta …
Je večkratni nagrajenec mednarodnih
glasbenih tekmovanj doma in v tujini.
Od leta 2002 je solo klarinetist Beograjske
filharmonije. Istega leta je ustanovil
komorni ansambel »Balkanska komorna
akademija«, ki ga sestavljajo znana imena
iz sveta klasične glasbe. Ognjen Popović
je tudi predavatelj za klarinet in saksofon
na mednarodni glasbeni delavnici pihal v
Tivtu, od leta 2007 naprej pa tudi docent
na ugledni akademiji za komorno glasbo
Villa Musica v Nemčiji in profesor za klarinet
in saksofon na beograjski Akademiji
lepih umetnosti.
Ognjen Popović was born in 1977 in
Pančevo, Serbia. He graduated at the Academy
of Music in Stuttgart, Germany, under
the guidance of Professor Ulf Rodenhäuser
in 1999. Two years later he received a master’s
degree from the Academy of Music in
Munich, Germany. As soloist or member of
chamber ensembles Ognjen Popović has
performed around the globe. He has worked
with numerous orchestras, including the
Munich Philharmonic, the European Chamber
Orchestra, Radio Symphony Orchestra
Valencia, the Belgrade Philharmonic, the
Munich Academic Orchestra, the Stuttgart
Academic Orchestra … Ognjen is laureate
of numerous music competitions at home
and abroad. Since 2002 he is solo clarinet of
the Belgrade Philharmonic. In the same year
he founded “The Balkan Chamber Academy”,
a chamber ensemble, composed of
famous classical musicians. Since 2007 Ognjen
Popović is assistant Professor at the renowned
academy for chamber music “Villa
Musica” in Germany. He is also Professor for
clarinet and saxophone at the Academy of
fine arts in Belgrade and teaches clarinet
and saxophone at the international music
workshop for wind instruments in Tivat.
