Fashion Studies<br />
Associate of Arts (AA.FAS)<br />
This program prepares a student to transfer to four-year<br />
programs in fashion design, fashion/retail merchandising,<br />
fashion marketing, fashion product development,<br />
marketing or business, one-year accelerated associate of<br />
applied science programs in fashion-related areas;<br />
or four-year programs in marketing or business.<br />
A student in Fashion Studies may transfer credit earned<br />
at BCC to other apparel related programs; however, care<br />
must be taken to confirm transferability of each course<br />
to a specific institution or program.<br />
Graduates of this program should be able to:<br />
Place in historical context and describe individual<br />
pieces of apparel and apparel ensembles;<br />
Demonstrate knowledge of the current international<br />
textile, apparel design, and apparel marketing<br />
industries;<br />
Transfer to a four-year institution in an apparel-related<br />
program.<br />
Whatever their academic goals, students who successfully<br />
complete <strong>Burlington</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>College</strong>'s Fashion Studies<br />
program will receive a comprehensive introduction to the<br />
foundations of apparel development and marketing,<br />
and to current practices in the apparel industry. In this<br />
program, the business aspects of developing and<br />
designing fashion apparel in a global marketplace<br />
are emphasized.<br />
Students will also explore entry-level employment<br />
opportunities ultimately available to them in the industry,<br />
