Retail Management Technology<br />
Option to Business Management Technology, (AAS.RMT)<br />
The Retail Management Technology program prepares<br />
students to enter the diverse field of retail management.<br />
It provides students with basic knowledge necessary for<br />
entry-level positions as assistant department managers,<br />
executive trainees, advertising assistants, assistant buyers or<br />
for those desiring to establish a retail business of their own.<br />
Graduates of this program should be able to:<br />
Demonstrate an understanding of current management<br />
theories and principles used in the successful<br />
management of organizations;<br />
Demonstrate the ability to understand the role of<br />
advertising and sales promotion in a business<br />
organization;<br />
Demonstrate the ability to effectively merchandise<br />
a product;<br />
Demonstrate knowledge of the terminology<br />
and procedures of the retailing filed.<br />
Students who wish to transfer to a baccalaureate program<br />
are strongly advised to seek information regarding<br />
admission and transfer requirements.<br />
