ART 135 3D Design 3 cr.<br />
3D Design is an introduction to the materials,<br />
techniques and procedures for creating art<br />
works and designs in 3 dimensions. This<br />
course will prepare the student for more<br />
advanced courses in a number of disciplines<br />
including: sculpture, architecture and other<br />
design fields that work in 3 rather than<br />

contemporary hand-building techniques,<br />

A museum visit with a guided tour by the<br />

This course introduces the student to the<br />
automotive field as a career and emphasizes<br />
basic automotive systems and general service<br />
techniques. It also includes measuring devices,<br />
fasteners, and hand/power tool use.<br />

AUT 102 Automotive Brake Systems 3 cr.<br />
This course explores the automotive brake<br />
system in depth. The student studies drum<br />
and disc brake theory, diagnosis, operation,<br />
and overhaul, as well as machining processes,<br />
bleeding techniques, master cylinder and<br />
power booster operation. It also covers<br />
diagnosis, operation, and repair of anti-lock<br />
brake systems.<br />

Suspension, and Alignment 3 cr.<br />
This course emphasizes theory, diagnosis,<br />
operation and repair of typical steering<br />
and suspension systems used on today’s<br />
automobiles. Additionally, alignment factors<br />
and angles are studied as part of doing a<br />
complete two- and four-wheel alignment.<br />

and Manual Transmissions 3 cr.<br />
This course emphasizes diagnosis and repair<br />
of clutches, driveshafts, universal joints, and<br />
differentials. Also 3, 4, and 5 speed manual<br />
transmissions are discussed and students are<br />
required to do lab assignments on these<br />

AUT 105 Automotive<br />
Electricity/Electronics 4 cr.<br />
This course covers basic electronic theory<br />
and meter use as it relates to the automobile.<br />
This theory is then applied by the student to<br />
properly diagnose and repair automotive<br />
electrical problems. It also includes rebuilding<br />
and diagnosing of charging, starting, and<br />
basic ignition systems.<br />

AUT 201 Automotive <strong>Computer</strong> Systems 3 cr.<br />
This course prepares a student to work on<br />
today’s computer controlled automobiles. It<br />
covers theory, diagnosis, and repair of various<br />
computer controlled systems. Emphasis is<br />
placed on proper troubleshooting/diagnostic<br />
procedures using both on-board selfdiagnostic<br />
systems as well as scan tools.<br />

This course emphasizes the theory and<br />
repair of carbureted and injected fuel systems<br />
on today’s automobiles. It covers emission<br />

system. Students are required to do on-car<br />
diagnosis and repair.<br />

This course includes proper diagnosis,<br />
disassembly, inspection, and rebuilding<br />
techniques for a car’s engine. Use of<br />

the student disassembles and rebuilds a<br />
complete engine.<br />
