Option to Liberal Arts and Sciences, (AS.PHY)
Physics is the study of the basic principles of the natural
world. This program is designed for those students
interested in transferral into a baccalaureate program in
physics. The goals of the program are to provide students
with a clear understanding of the basic concepts and
principles of physics, and to strengthen their understanding
through problem solving and laboratory experiments.
Graduates of this program should be able to:
Apply critical thinking skills and equations to solve
numerical problems;
Apply critical thinking skills to solve conceptual
problems;
Demonstrate good laboratory skills;
Demonstrate effective oral and written
communication skills;
Transfer to a four-year institution in a physics
or physics related program.
