Physics<br />
Option to Liberal Arts and <strong>Science</strong>s, (AS.PHY)<br />
Physics is the study of the basic principles of the natural<br />
world. This program is designed for those students<br />
interested in transferral into a baccalaureate program in<br />
physics. The goals of the program are to provide students<br />
with a clear understanding of the basic concepts and<br />
principles of physics, and to strengthen their understanding<br />
through problem solving and laboratory experiments.<br />
Graduates of this program should be able to:<br />
Apply critical thinking skills and equations to solve<br />
numerical problems;<br />
Apply critical thinking skills to solve conceptual<br />
problems;<br />
Demonstrate good laboratory skills;<br />
Demonstrate effective oral and written<br />
communication skills;<br />
Transfer to a four-year institution in a physics<br />
or physics related program.<br />
