& Servicing Certificate (SPC.EET)<br />
This special program will enable students to<br />
prepare for both A+ and CISCO-CCNA<br />
Certification examinations. These two<br />
industry-recognized certificates would qualify<br />
the individuals for numerous job opportunities<br />
as <strong>Computer</strong> and Networking Service<br />
Technicians. All courses in this certificate<br />
apply toward <strong>Computer</strong> Servicing and<br />
Networking Technology AAS degree program.<br />

Cooking and Baking<br />
Certificate (SPC.FCB)<br />
This certificate provides students with the<br />
knowledge and skills necessary for an entrylevel<br />
position in a commercial kitchen or<br />
bakery. Students will be able to demonstrate<br />
basic culinary skills, practice sanitary food<br />
handling, and incorporate basic nutrition<br />
principles into recipes. Students can use these<br />
courses towards the Food Service and<br />
Hospitality Management Certificate, the<br />
Food Service and Hospitality Management<br />
Technology degree, and the Culinary Arts<br />
degree.<br />

Disaster Preparedness<br />
Certificate (SPC.DPC)<br />
This program provides the student with the<br />
fundamentals of planning for risk events<br />
before they occur. In our post-9/11 society,<br />
disaster events include but are not limited<br />
to terrorist attacks in the form of nuclear,<br />
biological, chemical and cyber events. The<br />
program also examines man-made, natural<br />
and accidental disasters caused by weather,<br />
accidents, public health events and many<br />
other causes. The program is designed for<br />
the student interested in advancement of<br />
specialized security skills, further education<br />
in the field via transfer and increased<br />
knowledge in this rapidly expanding field.<br />
The certificate program requires<br />

Elder-Adult Companion Care<br />
Certificate (SPC.EAC)<br />
This two-semester certificate program is<br />
designed for students interested in providing<br />
elder-adult companion care. Through this<br />
program, students will attain a knowledge base<br />
of the aging process. Students will also gain an<br />
understanding of music, and an introduction to<br />
various religions. This program is not intended<br />
to provide physical or “hands on” care.<br />

Family Helper Certificate<br />
(SPC.FHC)<br />
This two-semester certificate program is<br />
designed for students who are interested in<br />
providing in-home child care as a “Family<br />
Helper.” Through the program, students will<br />
attain a general knowledge base providing<br />
competencies in the teaching/learning field.<br />
Students will also develop skills to assist<br />
children and adolescents with varied school<br />
assignments and projects. It is recommended<br />
that all students have current CPR Certification.<br />
This program requires a minimum of 24<br />
