Automotive Technology Certificate<br />
Certificate (CRT.AUT)<br />
This is a cooperative program between <strong>Burlington</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong> and the <strong>Burlington</strong> <strong>County</strong> Institute of Technology.<br />
It will prepare students for a variety of careers as automotive<br />
repair technicians. General education courses will be taught<br />
by faculty at <strong>Burlington</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>College</strong> facilities. The<br />
specialized automotive courses will be taught by <strong>Burlington</strong><br />
<strong>County</strong> Institute of Technology faculty at their Medford and<br />
Westampton campuses. Students enrolling in this program<br />
should apply for admission through the <strong>Burlington</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
Institute of Technology, Adult Education Division. Upon<br />
completion of AUT 101 through AUT 105, students should<br />
apply for admission to <strong>Burlington</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>College</strong> and<br />
complete AUT 201 through AUT 204.<br />
Graduates of this program should be able to:<br />
Apply fundamentals of Automotive service training,<br />
including the basics of automotive analysis and repair,<br />
Pre-delivery inspection and Warranty repair procedures;<br />
Identify, inspect, disassemble and assemble basic<br />
components of automotive systems;<br />
Apply knowledge of the function, construction,<br />
operation, analysis and servicing of automotive systems<br />
and sub-systems;<br />
Use current state of the art analysis tools such as<br />
scan tools, electronic analysis equipment, electrical<br />
diagnostic tools and computer-generated information;<br />
Apply knowledge and understanding of electrical<br />
principles, semi conductors, microprocessors and<br />
wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair malfunctions<br />
in modern day vehicle systems;<br />
Test, service and repair heating and air conditioning/<br />
climate control systems.<br />
