<strong>Computer</strong> Management Information Systems<br />
Associate of Applied <strong>Science</strong>, (AAS.MIS)<br />
This program is designed primarily to meet the needs of<br />
those students who intend to seek immediate employment<br />
in the business world. The student will receive background<br />
in theory and practice in modern computer programming,<br />
applications, and business systems analysis.<br />
Management Information Systems is a very specialized<br />
area within the computer field. In addition to courses in<br />
information processing, the curriculum includes courses<br />
in business-related subjects.<br />
Graduates of this program should be able to:<br />
Understand and apply sound principles of system<br />
design to a range of problems found in a business<br />
environment;<br />
Apply skills in basic networking settings and concepts;<br />
Be programming competent using a modern<br />
programming language;<br />
Be proficient in database design and application<br />
software to meet the specific needs of an employer;<br />
Demonstrate good business communication and<br />
interpersonal skills;<br />
Enter an entry level position in the MIS field or a<br />
position involving technical responsibility in today’s<br />
highly complex technological environment.<br />
