A wyrmling force dragon hatches from an egg thesize of a farmer’s hut, and emerges covered in glitteringscales like tiny diamonds. As it ages, its scales becomeless brilliant, but they still refract light—often surroundingthe dragon in a shimmering haze of light.Great wyrm force dragons are naturally invisible, sincetheir light passes smoothly throughtheir bodies. A force dragon’stranslucent scales thicken andharden as it ages, making a greatdragon’s hide nearly as impenetrable asa wall of force. Unlike nonepic dragons, force dragons have noodor whatsoever.Force dragons lairin remote regionsfar from civilization, but show nomarked preferencefor one terrain typeover any other. Ancientforests, forbiddingmountains, vast deserts, andyawning subterraneanchasms are allpotential lairs forthese reclusive beings.Despite theirmassive size, forcedragons eat verylittle, alternatingperiods of activeeating with longsleeps. They eatany kind ofmeat, but sagesspeculate thatthey also feedon force effectsor even on rawmagical power.CombatForce dragons rarely seek out combat, but they lash outagainst intruders in their domains with incrediblyferociry, attacking unceasingly until the foes are dead ordriven away. They have little interest in conversation, since they doubt that any lesser intellect could possessknowledge that would surpass its own. They preferusing their breath weapons for attack, and use theirspell-like abilities to separate their opponents and confinedangerous foes.Breath Weapon (Su): A force dragon has one type ofbreath weapon, a cone of force that tears through creaturesand objects in its area to devastating effect.Immune to Force (Ex): A force dragon cannot beharmed by any force effect, including magic missiles, explosive runes, Mordenkainen’s sword, the Otiluke’s spherespells, or any other spell or effect with the Force descriptor. It can move freely through barriers made of force, such as a wall of force.Deflecting Force (Su): A force dragon is protected bya shield of force that provides a deflection bonus to itsAC. The deflection bonus is equal to the dragon’sCharisma bonus.Blur (Su): When a force dragon reaches juvenile age,the force surrounding its body distorts the light aroundit so that it is hard to discern the dragon’s exact location. This functions asa continuous blur spell, giving the dragon onehalfconcealment (20%miss chance).Displacement (Su):An old force dragon’sdeflecting force bendslight even more extremely, giving thedragon the benefit ofthe displacement spell(total concealment, 50%miss chance). Thissupersedes its blurability.Invisibility(Su): A great wyrmforce dragon is a creatureof pure force, andis completely invisible(as though protectedby improved invisibility).A creature that can seeinvisible creaturesmust still contend withthe dragon’s displacementability.Spell-Like Abilities:3/day—forcecage, maze,Otiluke’s resilient sphere,Otiluke’s telekinetic sphere, wall of force.Sample Force Dragon, AdultGargantuan Dragon (Force)Hit Dice: 45d12+585 (877 hp)Initiative: +0Speed: 60 ft., fly 300 ft.
