Having the lofty status of an epic charactermeans nothing it you- can’t interact withothers—both friends and foes—whosepowers: and abilities are a match for yourown. In this chapter, you’ll find out aboutepic organizations with agendas that span the multiverse.You’ll get a glimpse of the city of Union, a planarmetropolis that your PCs may choose to visit occasionallyor make their main base of operations.Rounding out the chapter is a brief epic adventure andsome other adventure ideas to get your next epic gamesession rolling.EPIC ORGANIZATIONSIn the multiverse of an epic campaign, several organizationsexist that attract epic characters as members,and through those members coordinate grand, panplanaractivities.Player characters may interact with these powerfulorganizations, in some limited fashion or perhaps on amore frequent basis. As a whole, epic organizationslikely wield more power than the player characters.The characters may choose to participate in or opposedifferent groups. There comes a point, as time goes on,when the character .are in a position to take over orwipe out an organization in question. The prospect ofachieving this status creates a credible, long-termgoal for an epic campaign. If the means to growmore and more powerful through epic playexists, players want to test the limits of thatsystem and find out just how legendary they canmake their characters.Obviously, the time it takes for player charactersto reach this status of supremacy should belong and adventure-filled. If a single encountercould alter the balance of power in an epicorganization, the victory would be hollow. Thesegroups must prove to be mighty allies or lethaladversaries that take many months or years ofgame play to control or conquer.Given enough game time and play sessions,the player characters should become able toovertake an organization, best their leaders,and assume control or dismantle the powerstructure of the groups. When that timecomes, be ready to throw everything you’vegot as a DM against them.The characters are epic adventurers, afterall.
