Part I, Chapter 6<strong>THE</strong> FREE LIFE1952-1953What emerged from m<strong>an</strong>onash was named by <strong>Baba</strong> his 'Complicated Free <strong>Life</strong>', in which'bindings were to dominate freedom'; this continued until10 July 1952, when it was fo11owedby the 'Full Free <strong>Life</strong>', in which 'freedom would dominate bindings'; on 15 November therestarted the 'Fiery Free <strong>Life</strong>', in which 'freedom <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> bindings would by the grace <strong>of</strong> God bemerged into the Divine <strong>Life</strong>'.To prepare for the Fiery Free <strong>Life</strong>, he sent Eruch <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> Pendu to visit places in India <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong>Pakist<strong>an</strong>. He said:"I am not concerned <strong>with</strong> reactions to me as <strong>an</strong> individual. <strong>The</strong>y will be as various as thereare individual temperaments. My sole concern in the Fiery Free <strong>Life</strong>, will be <strong>with</strong> the DivineTruth <strong>of</strong> my realization, which I should like to share <strong>with</strong> those who seek it. <strong>The</strong> consuming<strong>of</strong> freedom <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> bindings (which is characteristic <strong>of</strong> the Fiery Free <strong>Life</strong>) me<strong>an</strong>s that there is acomplete blending <strong>of</strong> the God-state <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> the m<strong>an</strong>-state, so that the one does not live throughopposition to the other, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> there c<strong>an</strong> be no question <strong>of</strong> the one encroaching upon the other."Spiritual freedom is essentially a positive state <strong>of</strong> conscious enjoyment <strong>of</strong> divinity. It doesnot have to maintain itself through the overcoming <strong>of</strong> <strong>an</strong>y bindings, for these are not bindings<strong>of</strong> the soul in its essence, but temporary bindings <strong>of</strong> the body <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> the mind, which c<strong>an</strong> in noway curtail the Bliss, Power or Underst<strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong>ing <strong>of</strong> conscious Divinity. In other words, thebinding, to which the soul seems to be subject, tums out to be no binding in its true essence.<strong>The</strong> binding is only illusory. After the <strong>an</strong>nihilation <strong>of</strong> the limited mind, the infiniteconsciousness <strong>of</strong> the soul, <strong>with</strong> all its Knowledge, Power <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> Bliss, remains unaffected by <strong>an</strong>yweaknesses or diseases to which the body may yield as a result <strong>of</strong> natural laws."<strong>The</strong> Perfect Ones, who retain normal consciousness <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> the body,
