322 <strong>THE</strong> <strong>GOD</strong>-<strong>MAN</strong><strong>The</strong> so m<strong>an</strong>y deaths during the one whole life, beginning from the evolution <strong>of</strong> consciousness to the end<strong>of</strong> the involution <strong>of</strong> consciousness, are like so m<strong>an</strong>y sleeps during one lifetime.One who lives for himself is truly dead <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> one who dies for God is truly alive. <strong>Baba</strong> extended what hehad said the day before:"How God is beyond imagination I will explain in a few words. God has no beginning. C<strong>an</strong> you imaginewhen God was not? Suppose your imagination takes you as far back as millions <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> trillions <strong>of</strong> years, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong>the <strong>an</strong>swer is still: God was. But what was before God? And again the <strong>an</strong>swer is: God was. So, c<strong>an</strong><strong>an</strong>ybody imagine what was before God? Or how it all beg<strong>an</strong>? Even imagination c<strong>an</strong>not carry us to <strong>an</strong>yidea <strong>of</strong> how God beg<strong>an</strong> - how everything beg<strong>an</strong>. To think <strong>of</strong> having no beginning c<strong>an</strong>not be imagined.<strong>The</strong>re is no beginning. And before God was? <strong>The</strong> same <strong>an</strong>swer: God was. Now, in illusion you will findyourself getting a beginning. And where there is a beginning, there will be <strong>an</strong> end. So you, who areexperiencing illusion, how c<strong>an</strong> you imagine that which has no beginning <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> no end? Yet you as yourself,as a drop <strong>of</strong> your own infinite oce<strong>an</strong>, have no beginning <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> no end. You have this form. You take birth.You have a beginning as a drop: you grow, you die, you end. You begin <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> end in illusion. You, asbodies, have a beginning <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> <strong>an</strong> end. You are the Infinite One, but as a body you have beginning <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> end;as the Infinite Oce<strong>an</strong> - <strong>of</strong> which you are the drop as body - there is no beginning <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> no end."To experience your real Self is the goal. You are <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> you will ever be. <strong>The</strong>re is no one else but You.Inst<strong>an</strong>tly, in a flash, you will know everything, including why you have no beginning <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> no end. But thisknowing will have nothing to do <strong>with</strong> mind, reason, logic. It is beyond mind. You know the <strong>an</strong>swer toeverything, you know that nothing has happened <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> nothing will ever happen. You then experience bliss,you become all-powerful, all-knowing."A discourse was read on:Omnipresence<strong>The</strong>re c<strong>an</strong>not be <strong>an</strong>ything hidden from One who is Omnipresent. And as there c<strong>an</strong>not be hidden <strong>an</strong>ythingfrom such a One, he must be omniscient. He is all-knowing, knowing everything.
