294 <strong>THE</strong> <strong>GOD</strong>-<strong>MAN</strong>28 November the invitations to the sahawas as pl<strong>an</strong>ned were sent <strong>of</strong>f. <strong>Baba</strong> said:"I tell Harry that as long as he is here <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> attending to me I will do what he says, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> in his absence willtry to carry out his instructions. But I c<strong>an</strong>not promise to carry them out fully because I have work to do. Hehas satisfactorily attended to his business <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> I have to attend to mine. I have taken on this body forhum<strong>an</strong>ity's sake, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> during the year I have to use my body for the work I have to do in my love forhum<strong>an</strong>ity. <strong>The</strong>refore I must not take care <strong>of</strong> it to the extent <strong>of</strong> letting it interfere <strong>with</strong> my work. On theother h<strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> I must take enough care so that it st<strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong>s up to the strain <strong>of</strong> work that lies ahead <strong>of</strong> me."<strong>Baba</strong> was staying at Guruprasad <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> darsh<strong>an</strong> was held there for about four hundred people.It lasted all day. Among those who came was a blind Bengali girl <strong>with</strong> her parents. <strong>Baba</strong> gave her specialinstructions to fast for forty days on milk, tea, c<strong>of</strong>fee <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> b<strong>an</strong><strong>an</strong>as, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> during that period to repeat hisname 1,001 times daily. She was told to participate in the February sahawas <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> to break the fast the daythe sahawas started. He made clear to the girl <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> her parents that he did not perform miracles <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> theymust not get the impression that by carrying out his instructions her sight would be restored. He said:"<strong>The</strong> eyes <strong>of</strong> m<strong>an</strong> see things that are not worth seeing <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> that which is Real is not seen by physical eyes.My instructions will help her to see inwardly what alone is worth seeing."
