246 <strong>THE</strong> <strong>GOD</strong>-<strong>MAN</strong>a headache. So, yoga samadhi, t<strong>an</strong>tric samadhi, are like getting drunk. One feels <strong>an</strong> emperor, as if onecould do <strong>an</strong>ything; but as soon as it is over, the stress <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> strain <strong>of</strong> life resume."In Nirvikalpa Samadhi which the Sufis call F<strong>an</strong>a; which me<strong>an</strong>s passing away from selfhood to union<strong>with</strong> God, the soul identifies itself <strong>with</strong> God. This samadhi is the real samadhi. Here one becomes God.God's knowledge is his knowledge, God's bliss is his bliss, God's power is his power, God's beauty is hisbeauty. During this samadhi, he has no consciousness <strong>of</strong> body, energy, mind, universe, but is onlyconscious <strong>of</strong> the Self as God. Very, very few get this Nirvikalpa Samadhi."It is said: 'After cycles <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> cycles, one gets F<strong>an</strong>a'. This is called F<strong>an</strong>a-fillah, or one who has been madeone <strong>with</strong> God. Very few such regain normal consciousness; but one who does regain normal consciousnesshas Sahaj Samadhi. Sahaj Samadhi is Nirvikalpa Samadhi in action when one is fully conscious <strong>of</strong> theuniverse. Such a one, when he speaks, eats, moves about, plays, or does <strong>an</strong>ything, is enjoying NirvikalpaSamadhi all the time. He is called a Qutub which, in Persi<strong>an</strong>, me<strong>an</strong>s the centre <strong>of</strong> everything - the pivot -what we call a Perfect Master. He is now on every pl<strong>an</strong>e <strong>of</strong> consciousness, one <strong>with</strong> God, even on the level<strong>of</strong> <strong>an</strong> <strong>an</strong>t, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> simult<strong>an</strong>eously he is functioning in the gross, subtle <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> mental worlds; he is aboveeverything. Sahaj Samadhi me<strong>an</strong>s effortless Oneness. It is as simple as moving the h<strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong>s or winking theeyelids."Tomorrow, if you remind me - I don't promise - I will tell you how, when thinking <strong>of</strong> me, you c<strong>an</strong> stilldo everything you need to do in the world. This is not Sahaj samadhi, but sahaj dhy<strong>an</strong>. Even while eating,drinking, working, while looking at motion pictures, or attending to your business, you will still feel that<strong>Baba</strong> is <strong>with</strong> you."Tomorrow, when we play the Indi<strong>an</strong> records, I intend to explain m<strong>an</strong>y things, if I am in a good mood.Today, let us keep silence, but at the same time listen to some English recordings. I am very fond <strong>of</strong> music,but have not had the time to listen recently. <strong>The</strong> girls made me bring these records. While the records arebeing played, be here in this room mentally, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> not elsewhere. Kabir said, 'Any music is the seventhshadow <strong>of</strong> that Word'.
