28 CUMULATIVE IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF ST. PAUL RIVER DEVELOPMENT<br />

28.1 Scope<br />

This Chapter provides an assessment of cumulative impacts of the planned hydropower<br />

cascade on Mount Coffee River. The assessment is done entirely based on available<br />

documentation and information. No site visits to or specific field work for the three<br />

planned reservoirs upstream of Mt. Coffee HPP were carried out.<br />

28.2 The St. Paul River Cascade<br />

A short description of the cascade was provided in Section 3.7. For easier reference, the<br />

figure providing an overview of the cascade is reproduced here.<br />

The cascade to be used as a reference for the CIA still needs to be defined. Presently,<br />

there are mainly two descriptions, one provided in the Main 1982 reports, the other from<br />

the Stanley 2008 report. The latter focuses on the “Optimal” Mt. Coffee Development
