The knowledge that is stored dependson <strong>the</strong> way <strong>the</strong> process<strong>in</strong>g elements are connected and by <strong>the</strong>importance of each connection, known as its weight.Ra<strong>the</strong>r than be<strong>in</strong>g programmed, neural networks are tra<strong>in</strong>ed. Thenetwork adjusts itself based on a specified learn<strong>in</strong>g rule that corrects <strong>the</strong>response to a desired response.
