blessing me with good health, wisdom, a broader thinking capacity and other essential
ingredients of life to undertake this PhD research work. I acknowledge with immense gratitude

Aim motivated and encouraged by the support and immense contributions made by My
Research Supervisor, Professor Dr Simon Grima (Professor of Banking Studies) for his
encouragement and constructive critics of the draft document who devoted time to read the
research work thoroughly from the beginning up to the end.
