• PROMOTION AND ROLE MODELS. Help <strong>in</strong> promot<strong>in</strong>g implementation and<br />

review the exist<strong>in</strong>g Tanzanian labor laws which need to be reformed to meet for<br />

personnel development programs and practices <strong>of</strong> the SACCOs as a new venture <strong>in</strong> the<br />

economic development.<br />

• HIV/AIDS. Foreign banks may also provide HIV awareness education and campaigns<br />

to the members and non-members <strong>of</strong> the SACCOs movement both <strong>in</strong> rural and urban<br />

areas about the risks associated with Aids.<br />

• TECHNOLOGIES. Foreign banks may facilitate the <strong>in</strong>troduction <strong>of</strong> new technologies<br />

to assist SACCOs <strong>in</strong> <strong>of</strong>fer<strong>in</strong>g high quality products and services with high efficiency and<br />

effectiveness <strong>of</strong> the outputs.<br />

• CONDUCT WORKSHOPS: Several workshops can be conducted to assist the<br />

members <strong>of</strong> SACCOs to identify their potential stakeholders and their potential <strong>role</strong>s <strong>in</strong><br />

support<strong>in</strong>g the development <strong>of</strong> SACCOs and identify<strong>in</strong>g the key challenges that are<br />

fac<strong>in</strong>g SACCOs <strong>in</strong> try<strong>in</strong>g to go one step beyond the traditional micro f<strong>in</strong>ances.<br />

• Provide a political, social and economic enabl<strong>in</strong>g environment that will ensure and<br />

protect the autonomy and democratic pr<strong>in</strong>ciples <strong>of</strong> cooperatives while at the same<br />

time ensur<strong>in</strong>g a level play<strong>in</strong>g field for cooperatives as competitive suppliers <strong>of</strong> goods<br />

and services to government and the private sector. Such a supportive environment<br />

can be promoted, <strong>in</strong>ter-aria, by effective partnership and dialogue between<br />

Governments and cooperatives through jo<strong>in</strong>t consultative councils and/or advisory<br />

bodies.<br />

• Introduce and support programmes to improve the access <strong>of</strong> cooperative to<br />

technology and enhance capacity build<strong>in</strong>g by strengthen<strong>in</strong>g and organizational,<br />

management and f<strong>in</strong>ancial skills <strong>of</strong> members <strong>of</strong> cooperatives, and <strong>in</strong> this regard, to<br />

assist cooperatives <strong>in</strong> obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g necessary technical assistance from donors.<br />
