Interagency Integrated SOPUNCLASSIFIEDTab 2 to Annex F: SOP for Verification of NSCI Clearances1.0 PurposeThis St<strong>and</strong>ard Operating Procedure (SOP) provides guidance on the security measures that willbe implemented <strong>and</strong> adhered to for the verification of security clearances.2.0 ApplicabilityThis SOP applies to all personnel working in or around the <strong>Joint</strong> <strong>Field</strong> <strong>Office</strong> (JFO).3.0 Individuals With Current Clearances3.1. VerificationTo verify an individual’s clearance, the JFO Security <strong>Office</strong>r will either pass clearanceinformation via fax or email, or access (via terminal or Internet) one or more of the followingdatabases:• OPM PIPS SII/Clearance Verification System (CVS) for civilian personnel;• <strong>Joint</strong> Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) for military personnel;• Scattered Castles for individuals requiring access to SCI.3.2.Access to these databases may be available at FBI <strong>Field</strong> <strong>Office</strong>, DHS/USSS <strong>Field</strong> <strong>Office</strong>, <strong>and</strong>military installation. Web-based versions are also available.3.2.1.If direct access to the above databases is not available, the JFO Security <strong>Office</strong>r will:• Contact a DHS Security <strong>Office</strong> (via phone or email) with connectivity to the abovedatabases. Security <strong>Office</strong>s include DHS HQ, CBP, TSA, USCG, DHS/USSS,DHS/FEMA, <strong>and</strong> DHS/ICE.• Provide full name (includes middle name), Social Security Number (SSN), Date ofBirth (DOB), Place of Birth (POB) to DHS Security <strong>Office</strong>; <strong>and</strong>• Receive clearance verification (via phone, fax, <strong>and</strong> email).3.3.Once the clearance has been verified via one of the above methods, the JFO Security <strong>Office</strong>rwill issue access control card reflecting clearance level.3.4.The <strong>Office</strong> of Security will receive the DHS/ICE/FPS Security <strong>Office</strong>r cadre roster(DHS/USSS for NSSEs) <strong>and</strong> pre-clear these personnel for access to the <strong>Office</strong> of Securitysecurity database.121Version 8.3Interim Approval April 28, 2006
