The Intelligence <strong>Operations</strong> Center or JFOIntelligence Branch (depending on the circumstance) is the primary intake <strong>and</strong>assessment point for classified intelligence information. Information may be routedto the Intelligence <strong>Operations</strong> Center /JFO Intelligence Branch by hard copy, fax,phone, or by SIPRNET or JWICS. Where the Intelligence <strong>Operations</strong> Center /JFOIntelligence Branch has not been established, the JOC Intelligence Unit becomesthe primary intake <strong>and</strong> assessment point for classified intelligence information.Where neither the Intelligence <strong>Operations</strong> Center /JFO Intelligence Branch nor theJOC Intelligence Unit has been established, the JFO Information <strong>and</strong> IntelligenceUnit becomes the primary intake <strong>and</strong> assessment point. For further information onpassing clearances, see Tab 2 to Annex F.2.2.2 Internal Information Exchange• Based on the JFO Information-Sharing Procedures developed by the JFO SituationUnit (see Section 4.4.1 of the SOP), staff in the JFO Situation Unit, JFOInformation <strong>and</strong> Intelligence Unit, JOC Intelligence Unit, MACC, <strong>and</strong> Intelligence<strong>Operations</strong> Center/JFO Intelligence Branch will forward information they believerelevant to another unit to that unit for review. This process is generally known as“cross-posting.”• Once information has been cross-posted, it will be treated as new information bythe receiving customer (i.e., units will not be empowered to bypass another unit’sinformation intake, tracking, <strong>and</strong> assessment processes). For this reason, originatorinformation (including sources, POCs, date/time stamp, information confidence,<strong>and</strong> so on) should be included to the extent permissible by information securityprotocols.2.2.3 Situation Report Development• While the JFO Planning Section Chief may arrange duties within the Section asnecessary for efficient functioning, the JFO Documentation Unit will normallydistill information from the JFO Information Management System to comprise the“base” information for the many <strong>and</strong> various SITREPs required by any member ofthe JFO Coordination Group (see Annex E for a sample).• All entities within the JFO will provide their respective inputs via JFOnet forconstruction of the distributed SITREP.• All JFO entities have a responsibility for posting spot reports (SPOTREPs) onJFOnet as information is received from their areas of responsibility as defined byICS (See Annex E for a sample).• The report cycle of issuance of SITREPs will be determined by the JFOCoordination Group, generally following the st<strong>and</strong>ard ICS practice of one SITREPbeing issued per operating period.73Version 8.3Interim Approval April 28, 2006
