The reason for the variation is due to the high<br />
<br />
<br />
Humanities. This resulted in the deviation of a<br />
43% enrolled in Humanities in relation to the<br />
planned 42%. Since 2003, concerted efforts<br />
have been made to increase the number of<br />
enrolments in education due to the need for<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
teacher education in 2007 and the introduction<br />
<br />
<br />
terms of funding for infrastructure on teacher<br />
<br />
<br />
the development of the Integrated Strategic<br />
<br />
Development (2011-20<strong>15</strong>). The Department<br />
has been implementing this initiative since<br />
<br />
The universities have responded positively to<br />
the former Department of Education and the<br />
<br />

increasing their enrolments and graduates<br />
