With regard to the monitoring of expenditure, the Department is receiving expenditure reports in respect of the<br />
spending of the FET Colleges Conditional Grants on a monthly basis from provincial education departments.<br />
Regarding universities and universities of technology, annual reports are evaluated by the Department. The<br />
transfers to international organisations comprise annual member contributions and no monitoring of this<br />
expenditure is undertaken.<br />
Amounts allocated to Higher Education Subsidies, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, the Higher<br />
Education HIV/Aids Programme and the establishment of universities in Mpumalanga and Northern Cape<br />
<br />
originally earmarked.<br />
