ENFORCEMENT<br />

18.40.030 Carrying Firearms.<br />

18.40.040 Penalty.<br />

The Airport Director shall be responsible for the enforcement <strong>of</strong> the provisions <strong>of</strong> this Title. (Ord. 5203, 2001;<br />

Ord. 3480 §2(part), 1971.)<br />

18.40.020 Issuance <strong>of</strong> Citations.<br />

The Airport Director, and those employees <strong>of</strong> the Airport Department charged by the Airport Director with<br />

enforcement duties, are authorized to issue written notices to appear as provided in Chapter 1.20 <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Code</strong>, <strong>of</strong><br />

Section 853.6 <strong>of</strong> the California Penal <strong>Code</strong>, and to issue notices <strong>of</strong> illegal parking as provided in Section 40202 <strong>of</strong> the<br />

California Vehicle <strong>Code</strong>. (Ord. 5557, 2011; Ord. 5203, 2001; Ord. 3480 §2(part), 1971.)<br />

18.40.030 Carrying Firearms.<br />

The Patrol Supervisor and Airport Patrol Officers may carry firearms while engaged in the performance <strong>of</strong> their<br />

duties. Prior to carrying firearms, the Patrol Supervisor and all Airport Patrol Officers must satisfactorily complete a<br />

course <strong>of</strong> training in the carrying and use <strong>of</strong> firearms which meets the minimum standards prescribed by the<br />

Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training. The purpose and intent <strong>of</strong> the authorization to carry firearms<br />

provided in this section is to provide a means <strong>of</strong> self-defense or defense <strong>of</strong> others. The use and handling <strong>of</strong> such<br />

weapons shall comply in all respects with all applicable policies, rules and regulations. (Ord. 5557, 2011; Ord. 5203,<br />

18.40.040 Penalty.<br />

The violation <strong>of</strong> any provision <strong>of</strong> this Title is a misdemeanor and upon conviction there<strong>of</strong> shall be punishable by a<br />

fine not to exceed the sum <strong>of</strong> one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding six (6)<br />

months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord. 5557, 2011; Ord. 3480 §2(part), 1971.)<br />
