Purple 1 The wind and the sun 1 2 3 4 5 One fine day, long ago, the wind and the sun were having an argument. ‘I’m stronger than you’, said the wind. He blew out a puff of wind to show off. ‘I’m stronger than you’, said the sun. He shot out a ray of sunshine to show off. They kept arguing and couldn’t decide who was the stronger. Suddenly, they saw a man walking down the road. He was wearing a jacket. This gave them an idea. They agreed that whoever was able to make the man take off his jacket would be the stronger. ©R.I.C. He huffed and puffed and tried to get the man to take off his jacket. But the harder he blew the tighter the man held on to it. 6 7 Then it was the sun’s turn. He came out from behind the cloud and beamed brightly. He beamed brighter and brighter. The man became hotter and hotter. Soon he was too hot in his jacket and took it off. The sun was the stronger!
