We can see from this table that, even if we normalise the indicators to the different TPs, we can’t easily find a reason for the distribution of values. We can say that as the TP and therefore almost always, the utilisation category decreases, the normalised values of the indicators tend to increase, but with several exceptions. The exception represented by Gen3 Otis with regard to GWP tot and PERT could be interpreted with the fact that the system is in class B, and/ or that in the area of the USA (where production takes place) perhaps the share of renewable energy is lower than elsewhere, but the data is not available. However, the Rexia/Nexia do not seem to be penalised by not necessarily being declared Class A. The Kone Minispace, whose installation seems to be in China, where the energy mix is not favourable, does not seem to be particularly affected. A possible interpretation is that the ʻenvironmental efficiencyʼ of the system, expressed in normalised values, during the operational phase seems to be favoured by its greater intensity of use, as if even in this phase there were fixed elements to be offset with use (and this is probably the effects of the energy used in stationary and standby). Further insights would be of interest to all stakeholders, but are to be expected from experts in energy and environmental issues who are more knowledgeable than the author of this article, but who nevertheless hopes to have been of some use. • Da questa tabella si evince che, pur normalizzando gli indicatori alle diverse TP, non si trova facilmente una ragione nella distribuzione del valori. Diciamo che, col diminuire della TP e quindi, quasi sempre, della categoria di utilizzo, i valori normalizzati degli indicatori tendono a crescere, ma con diverse eccezioni. L’eccezione rappresentata da Gen3 Otis per quanto riguarda GWP tot e PERT la si potrebbe interpretare col fatto che l’impianto è in classe B, e/o che nell’area degli USA (dov’è la produzione) forse la quota di energia rinnovabile è minore che altrove, ma il dato non è disponibile. Però i Rexia/Nexia non sembrano penalizzati per il fatto di non essere dichiarati necessariamente di classe A. Il Kone Minispace, la cui installazione sembra essere in Cina, dove il mix energetico non è favorevole, non ne sembra particolarmente danneggiato. Se una interpretazione si può tentare di dare, è quella che la ʻefficienza ambientaleʼ dell’impianto, espressa in valori normalizzati, durante la fase operativa sembra essere favorita da una sua maggiore intensità di utilizzo, come se anche in questa fase vi fossero elementi fissi da ʻammortizzareʼ con l’uso (e probabilmente si tratta degli effetti dell’energia utilizzata in stazionamento e standby). BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS Giuseppe Iotti, electronic engineer, has been working on lifts since 1983 as co-owner of Koppel A.W. in Parma. He is technical expert of UNI, coordinator of the Commission on the safety of existing lifts, he has been a member of CEN/TC10, he represented European SMEs at the Lift Working Group of the European Commission. He was regional president of Anacam Emilia Romagna, and then member of the National board of directors, and secretary of Efesme, the Federation of European lift SMEs. He is co-author of some books on lift standards and techniques published by Maggioli, and of the book ‘Ascensori, energia, ambiente’ (Lifts, energy, environment), published by Anacam. He is the author of several articles for many trade magazines, including Elevatori Magazine. RIFERIMENTI BIOGRAFICI Giuseppe Iotti, ingegnere elettronico, si occupa di ascensori dal 1983 come contitolare della Koppel A.W. di Parma. È esperto tecnico in UNI, coordinatore della Commissione sulla sicurezza degli ascensori esistenti, lo è stato al CEN/TC10, ha rappresentato le PMI europee al Lift Working Group della Commissione europea. È stato presidente regionale di Anacam Emilia Romagna e poi componente del Direttivo nazionale. È stato anche segretario di Efesme, Federazione delle PMI ascensoristiche europee. È coautore di alcuni testi sulle norme e le tecniche ascensoristiche editi da Maggioli, e del libro ‘Ascensori, energia, ambiente’, edito da Anacam.
