Section 14b—India <strong>Rules</strong><br />

Each IVR Transaction enabled using <strong>MasterCard</strong> SecureCode must contain a >><br />

value of 2 (SecureCode phone order) in DE 61 (point-of-service [POS] Data),<br />

subfield 7 (POS Transaction Status) of the Authorization Request/0100 message.<br />

Each IVR, Mail Order, and Telephone Order Transaction enabled using the >><br />

<strong>MasterCard</strong> Assurance Service must contain a value of 6 (UCAF Control Byte)<br />

in DE 48, subelement 43, position 1, and a value of MAS in DE 124 of the<br />

Authorization Request/0100 message. For additional information, please contact<br />

Refer to section 3.4 of the Chargeback Guide for chargeback rights applicable<br />

to electronic commerce Transactions under the <strong>MasterCard</strong> SecureCode liability<br />

shift program.<br />

An Issuer may not use message reason codes 4837, 4849 or 4863 to charge >><br />

back a mail order, phone order, or IVR Transaction that occurs at a Merchant<br />

located in India, if:<br />

1. The Merchant is UCAF-enabled;<br />

2. The Issuer provided the UCAF for that Transaction;<br />

3. All other phone order authorization and clearing requirements were<br />

satisfied, including:<br />

a. the presence of a value of 2 (SecureCode phone order) in DE 61<br />

(Point-of-Service [POS] Data), subfield 7 (POS Transaction Status) of<br />

the Authorization Request/0100 message for IVR Transactions enabled<br />

with <strong>MasterCard</strong> SecureCode; or<br />

b. the presence of a value of 6 (UCAF Control Byte) in DE 48, subelement<br />

43, position 1, and a value of MAS in DE 124 of the Authorization<br />

Request/0100 message for mail order, phone order, or IVR Transactions<br />

enabled with the <strong>MasterCard</strong> Assurance Service.<br />

4. The Authorization Request Response/0110 message reflected the Issuer’s<br />

approval of the Transaction.<br />

All Issuers and all Acquirers of e-commerce and IVR Merchants must participate<br />

in the Activation During Shopping (ADS) method of cardholder enrollment<br />

in <strong>MasterCard</strong> SecureCode. Cardholders must complete enrollment on the<br />

first attempt, and the Issuer must not allow a Cardholder to opt-out of the<br />

SecureCode enrollment process.<br />

Guide for more information about <strong>MasterCard</strong> SecureCode and UCAF.<br />

All Issuers and all Acquirers of mail order, phone order, and IVR Merchants >><br />

participating in the <strong>MasterCard</strong> Assurance Service must register with the<br />

Corporation.<br />
