B.1 Transaction Date<br />

The Transaction date appearing in DE 12 (Date and Time, Local Transaction)<br />

is specified as follows.<br />

Face-to-Face The products or services are exchanged.<br />

Non–Face-to-Face The products are shipped or services<br />

performed.<br />

Vehicle Rental The vehicle is returned, or, if applicable,<br />

the prepayment date.<br />

Lodging Checkout occurred, or if applicable, the<br />

prepayment date.<br />

No-show The Cardholder was expected to arrive<br />

at the lodging Merchant and failed to<br />

appear.<br />

Airline/Railway The airline or railway ticket was issued.<br />

Cruise Line The transportation documents were<br />

issued.<br />

On-board Cruise Line The passenger disembarks.<br />

Refund The Merchant grants a credit or price<br />

adjustment.<br />

All in-flight commerce transactions except<br />

in-flight commerce mailed purchases<br />

Post-authorized Aggregated <strong>MasterCard</strong><br />

PayPass Transit<br />

B.2 <strong>MasterCard</strong> PayPass Transactions<br />

The flight departs from the originating<br />

city. The transaction date for in-flight<br />

commerce mailed purchases is the<br />

shipment date unless otherwise disclosed<br />

to the cardholder.<br />

One or more <strong>MasterCard</strong> PayPass taps<br />

performed with one <strong>MasterCard</strong> PayPass<br />

account number and occurring with one<br />

transit Merchant are aggregated in a First<br />

Presentment/1240 message.<br />

A properly identified <strong>MasterCard</strong> PayPass Transaction occurs when the<br />

following values are present in the Authorization Request/0100 or Financial<br />

Transaction Request/0200 message. A Transaction must not be identified as a<br />

<strong>MasterCard</strong> PayPass Transaction if the Card information is contact chip-read,<br />

magnetic stripe-read, or key-entered.<br />
