dan [OH – ] dengan rumus: [H + ] = K a . C a dan [OH – ] = K b . C b .<br />

Contoh Soal<br />

1. Hitunglah pH larutan HCN 0,01 M (K a<br />

HCN = 4,9 x 10 –10 )<br />

Penyelesaian:<br />

HCN(aq) H + (aq) + CN – (aq)<br />

[H + ] = Ka<br />

= 2,2 x 10 –6 M<br />

pH = – log [H + ]<br />

= – log 2,2.10 –6 = 6 – log 2,2<br />

= 6 – 0,3 = 5,66<br />

Jadi, pH larutan = 5,66.<br />

2. Suatu asam lemah dengan harga = 0,01 dan konsentrasi asam = 0,1 M.<br />

Hitunglah pH larutan asam tersebut.<br />

Penyelesaian:<br />

Misalkan asam lemah = HA<br />

HA(aq) H + (aq) + A – (aq)<br />

0,1 M 0,1 x <br />

[H + ]= 0,1x 0,01 = 10 –3 M<br />

pH = – log [H + ]<br />

= – log 10 –3<br />

= 3<br />

Jadi, pH asam = 3.<br />

3. Hitung pH larutan 0,01 M NH 4<br />

OH = 1,8 x 10 –5 ).<br />
