Program benefits
The preparation by means of eLearning and
eMentoring makes certain that all participants
are at the same level of knowledge when
joining the classroom session. The physical
presence with the experienced experts of the
University of St.Gallen can then be utilized
efficiently for questions about application and
for diving deeper into special aspects.
You learn in a structured manner about the
different fields of strategy work, including
many current examples and cases. In this way
you acquire a set of instruments to manage
a company or a unit with regards to strategic
success. You will be in the position to apply the
concepts and tools for the benefit of your own
area of responsibility.
«In a compact form the seminar provides the
necessary tools and concepts to manage strategy
processes. And not with textbook knowledge, but
rather oriented to practical issues, including a touch
of humor.»
Adrian Kohler, SBB Cargo AG, Organizational
Development
Objective
Whether a chip factory or a football club,
whether global automobile producer or newly
founded start-up, what all companies share
is that they need to choose a path to proceed
along towards realizing their vision. What
factors decide whether they will be successful?
How do they best design their strategy
process? What do they need to take account
of when formulating their strategy? How do
they implement it? How do they recognize
whether they are on the right track? These are
questions which are thoroughly analysed using
the St.Galler General Management Navigator
in this seminar. This concept for structuring
the areas of activity in a comprehensive
approach to strategy has been successfully
applied numerous times at many companies.
It transfers the results of intensive research
into a conceptual framework, which effectively
provides orientation to management teams in
their strategy work.
Structure
Part 1 (eLearning): In four web-based Trainings
(WBTs), each lasting four hours, you will
consolidate your knowledge regarding the
Management of Strategic Processes, Strategic
Analysis, Strategic Value Added and Change
Management. eMentors are continuously available
to answer your questions about the content.
The interactive WBTs have been produced
to the highest pedagogical standards, and are
visually attractive.
Part 2 (Classroom): You will have absorbed
the approach to addressing the key challenges
in developing and implementing strategies:
You know how important are the expectations
of customers, personnel, investors, the general
public and suppliers. You know further how
decisive it is, to optimally position your area
of the business against the competition. You
strive for new and innovative possibilities to
design the value creation process and for better
approaches to making the strategy come alive.
Finally, you analytically take apart the process
of strategy work itself and optimise it according
to the latest insights.
