Let us take a look at the state of <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>2.0</strong> (Fig. 13). I will open your eyes with<br />

what we are seeing on the ground with companies that are doing this. What is<br />

interesting is as of 2009 social tools have become main stream and now social<br />

software is the number 2 used application online beyond email. The only thing that<br />

is used more than social tools online is search, 93%. Social networks are about 88%<br />

in most developed nations. What is interesting is that most companies have the tools<br />

now too, about half of them as this year. That is a big change. But we not really using<br />

them still. We have not figured out how to strategically use them. We mostly<br />

tactically use them. We only have to look around for those KatrinaLists, for those<br />

AOL stories that I told you about. We are not even looking for the most part, but they<br />

are still there. Most organizations have the tools. They are using them.<br />

This is blurring the lines interestingly between the consumer and the workplace as<br />

well. So, we have uneven adoption. What is very interesting is we seem to see the<br />

farer you get away from the technology business the less likely you are to do this.<br />

Microsoft tells 30.000 wikis, not 30.000 wiki pages, but 30.000 wiki sites, three<br />

years ago. Nokia again is a very big adopter of wikis. Intel, all the years ago. The<br />

next layer of companies, primarily media companies and then financial institutions,<br />

DRKW. Here in Germany was one of the very first big enterprises to do upon case<br />

studies. Because financial institutions are very competitive and they need every edge
