This social skills lesson teaches individuals to express regret or ask <strong>for</strong>giveness<br />

from an individual or a group of individuals <strong>for</strong> something they did or <strong>for</strong> a<br />

particular situation.<br />

Concepts and Definitions<br />

Apologizing is a statement of regret one person makes to another individual or<br />

group of people <strong>for</strong> something they did, or something that they may have<br />

caused to happen.<br />

Objectives – As a result of this lesson the group members will:<br />

1. Describe the importance of apologizing.<br />

2. Per<strong>for</strong>m the steps of apologizing during the session.<br />

3. Per<strong>for</strong>m the steps of apologizing in real life situations.<br />
