Sandy was born in Margaree, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He joined the Army during World War<br />

I and served in Europe with 185 th Cape Breton Highlanders.<br />

MacDOUGALL, Alexander J. WWI<br />

Alexander was born in Westlake, Ainslie in Cape Breton. He joined the Army<br />

and served with the <strong>Canadian</strong> Expeditionary Force in France during World War<br />

I. Sergeant MacDougall was killed in action on April 12, 1917 at Vimy Ridge<br />

in France.<br />
