GUNN, Stewart WWI<br />
Stewart was born in Strathlorne, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> on February 28, 1898. He joined the<br />
Army during World War I and served in France and Europe with the 185 th Battalion<br />
of the Cape Breton Highlanders. Stewart was a member of Captain Angus L.<br />
MacDonald <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #132 in Inverness.<br />

HALEY, Malcolm WWI<br />
Malcolm was born in Merland, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> on September 15, 1894. He had two<br />
brothers, William Henry and Patrick, who were listed as his next of kin. Malcolm<br />
was single and working as a mill man at the time he enlisted in New Glasgow on<br />
November 16, 1917. He served as a Private during World War I. Malcolm died in<br />
1962 and is buried in Merland.<br />

HALEY, William Henry WWI<br />
William was born in Merland, Antigonish County, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> on September 21,<br />
1883. He enlisted in Cape Breton in April 1916 and served as a Private with the<br />
193 rd Battalion of the Canada Overseas Expeditionary Force during World War I. His<br />
next of kin was listed as his wife, Margaret. William was a miner and he died in<br />
New Waterford in 1957. He was a brother to Malcolm Haley.<br />

HALLIDAY, Marilyn PEACETIME<br />
Marilyn was born in Bear River, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> in 1943. She joined the <strong>Royal</strong><br />
<strong>Canadian</strong> Navy and took her basic training at CFB Cornwallis, then had to take a<br />
release to look after her sick husband. Marilyn has been a member of Clementsport<br />
<strong>Legion</strong> Branch #122 for 2 years.<br />
