John was born in Inverness, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He joined the Army and served with the<br />

185 th Battalion of the Cape Breton Highlanders in France during World War I. James<br />

is a recipient of the Military Medal.<br />

John was born in Broad Cove Banks, Inverness, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He enlisted in the<br />

Army and served with the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> Army Service Corps in Northwest<br />

Europe, Italy, and France during World War II. John was a member of Captain Angus<br />

L. MacDonald <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #132 in Inverness.<br />

World War II and served in Europe with the <strong>Royal</strong> Highland Regiment, Black Watch.<br />

Joseph was killed in active service.<br />
