VINCENT, George T. WWI<br />
George enlisted with the 40 th Battalion in 1915. He went overseas and was<br />
transferred to the 25 th Battalion. He then served in France for two years in the<br />
trenches and was killed in Belgium in the last battle before the Armistice was signed<br />
in 1918.<br />

VROOM, Donald Ira Morse “Don” PEACETIME<br />
Don was born in 1935 in Deep Brook, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He joined the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong><br />
Air Force in 1957 and took his basic training at the RCAF Station Centralia and<br />
Winnipeg. He served as an Air Obs Radar Tech Air at Centralia, Greenwood, and<br />
Edmonton. Don has been a member of Clementsport <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #122 for 10<br />
years.<br />

WALLACE, James Vincent WWII<br />
James was born on April 22, 1922 to Jim and Annie (Daley) Wallace from Afton.<br />
He enlisted in the North <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> Highlanders on August 30, 1941 in New<br />
Glasgow and served in the mail department, mainly in Victoria, British Columbia.<br />
Corporal Wallace was discharged on May 14, 1946 and received the <strong>Canadian</strong><br />
Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-45. He married Thelma Daley<br />
with whom he raised several children and they lived in Afton. James died in an<br />
accident on June 3, 1971 at the age of 49.<br />

WALKER, Donald Hector WWII<br />
Donald was born on July 15, 1920 in Inverness, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He enlisted in the<br />
Army during World War II and served as a Gunner with the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong><br />
Artillery in Canada, Britain and Northwest Europe. He was awarded the France<br />
and Germany Star, the 1939-45 Star, the Defense Medal, the <strong>Canadian</strong> Volunteer<br />
Service Medal with Clasp, and the War Medal 1939-45. Donald was a member of<br />
Captain Angus L. Macdonald <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #132 in Inverness.<br />
