<strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>/Nunavut <strong>Command</strong> of The <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> <strong>Legion</strong><br />
HARDIMAN, Gordon KOREA<br />
Gordon was born in Upper Prospect, Halifax County, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He joined the<br />
Army in 1952 and served with the Black Watch in Korea, and the <strong>Canadian</strong> Guards<br />
in Cyprus and Germany. His last 11 years of service were with the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong><br />
Air Force. Gordon retired in 1983 and lives in Auburn, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> with his wife,<br />
Gertrude. He has been a member of Alvin H. Foster M.M. Memorial Branch #098<br />
for thirty-eight years.<br />

HASSALL, Charles PEACETIME<br />
Charles was born in 1932 in Montreal, Quebec. He joined the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> Navy<br />
in 1950 in took his basic training at HMCS Cornwallis. He then proceeded to<br />
Esquimalt, BC to take his engineering stoker course. He served on HMCS Ontario,<br />
Quebec, and Magnificent as well as at the Stadacona, Shearwater, Donnacona, and<br />
Summerside bases. Charles eventually change trades, from Stoker to Air Fitter, and<br />
served for more than five years before taking his release. He then served as a<br />
Lieutenant with the Sea Cadet Corps RCSCC Trafalgar in Montreal for about 9<br />
years. Charles has been a member of Clementsport <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #122 for 6 years.<br />

HAWLEY, Leander Treen WWII<br />
Leander was from Port Hood and Glendyre, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He joined the Army during<br />
World War II and served in Europe with the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> Corps of Engineers.<br />

HAWLEY, Alex Angus WWII<br />
Alex was born in Port Hood, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He joined the Army during World War<br />
II and served with the Irish Regiment of Canada in Italy, France and Northwest<br />
Europe. Alex is a member of Captain Angus L. MacDonald <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #132<br />
in Inverness.<br />
