PACE, Lester Welsford WWI<br />
Lester enlisted in the 63 rd Rifles draft in 1914 and was made Sergeant before going<br />
overseas. He returned to a Private’s rank to go to France with the 24 th Battalion. He<br />
had shell shock in 1916 and lost his hearing for two years but was still on duty in<br />
France at the close of the war.<br />

PARKER, J. W. WWII & KOREA<br />
J. W. served as a Sergeant with the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> Army Medical Corps of Halifax<br />
and Kentville during World War II. He also served during the Korean Conflict.<br />
Sergeant Parker was awarded the British Empire Medal. J. W. also lost a cousin,<br />
Charlie Hagerty, in the Second World War.<br />

PERROTT, Walter Ernest WWI<br />
Walter was 24 years of age and an agent when he enlisted in Toronto, Ontario in the<br />
73 rd Highland Battalion in 1915. About a year later, he was promoted to Sergeant and<br />
nothing was ever heard of him after he went overseas with his battalion. The loss of<br />
Sergeant Perrott and other missing men in this way shows the saddest and most<br />
singular parts of a war.<br />

PEARLE, Lorne Ivan PEACETIME<br />
Lorne was born in 1938 in Sheffield Mills, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He joined the <strong>Canadian</strong><br />
Army and served with the Service Corps for 13 years, mostly as a driver on tanker<br />
trucks supplying fuel wherever needed. While driving tanker trucks, Ivan invented<br />
a hose part which the Government of Canada approved. He served in Canada,<br />
Germany, Egypt, and Cyprus. On retirement, Ivan served with the Cadet Corps with<br />
the rank of 2 nd Lieutenant. He was a member of Clementsport <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #122<br />
for 12 years before he passed away in 2011.<br />
