WATSON, Robert “Bobby” WWII<br />

Robert was born in Inverness, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He enlisted in the <strong>Canadian</strong> Army and<br />

served in Europe during World War II. Bobby was a member of Captain Angus L.<br />

Macdonald <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #132 in Inverness.<br />

WATTS, John F. WWI<br />

John was born in Port Hood, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He enlisted in the Army and served in<br />

France with the 185 th Battalion of the Cape Breton Highlanders during World<br />

War I.<br />

WEIR, Winston Dean PEACETIME<br />

Dean moved to <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>’s Monastery/Tracadie area when quite young and grew<br />

up there. He is the son of Fred and Ruby Weir. He enlisted in the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong><br />

Air Force and served 9 ½ years in active service as an air traffic controller and was<br />

a reserve officer for 30 years. He served in St. Jean, Quebec; Borden, Ontario; St.<br />

John’s, Newfoundland; Greenwood, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>; Esquimalt, BC; Val D’Or, Quebec<br />

and Goose Bay, Labrador. Captain Weir was awarded the <strong>Canadian</strong> Forces<br />

Decoration (2 Bars). He is married, has two children, and lives and works in Truro<br />

as a carpenter.<br />

WENTzELL, Malcolm Joseph WWII<br />

Malcolm was born in Brickton, Annapolis County, in <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> in 1920. He joined<br />

the Army and served with the North Shore Regiment, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> Highlanders<br />

Artillery and Infantry in Canada, England, Belgium, and Holland. Malcolm has been<br />

a member of Lawrencetown <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #112 for 61 years.<br />
