<strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>/Nunavut <strong>Command</strong> of The <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Canadian</strong> <strong>Legion</strong><br />
WALLACE, William John WWII & KOREA<br />
William was born to Jim and Annie (Daley) Wallace in Merland, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> on<br />
October 2, 1924. He enlisted in the Army on June 15, 1941 at the age of seventeen<br />
and served as a Private with the North <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> Highlanders. He went overseas<br />
in 1943 and served in England, France and Holland. Shell shocked in Holland in<br />
1944, he returned to Canada in 1945. William enlisted for Korea on February 21,<br />
1952 and served until the war ended in 1953. After returning home from the service,<br />
he married and he and his wife had one son. William died on April 3, 1963 at the age<br />
of thirty-eight.<br />

WALSH, J. F. WWI<br />
J. F. was born in Port Hood, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He enlisted in the Army during World<br />
War I and served in France as a Private with the 185 th Battalion of the Cape<br />
Breton Highlanders.<br />

WALSH, Ronald E. WWII<br />
Ronald was born in Inverness, <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. He enlisted in the Army during World<br />
War II and served in Europe with Company A, North <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> Highlanders.<br />

WALSH, William PEACETIME<br />
William was born in 1931 in Holyrood, Newfoundland. He joined the <strong>Royal</strong><br />
<strong>Canadian</strong> Navy in 1951 and took his basic training at HMCS Cornwallis. He then<br />
went to Naden, BC to take his Paywriter’s course. He served on HMCS Wallaceburg,<br />
Portage, Nootka, Columbia, and Algonquin. He also served at these bases:<br />
Cornwallis, Stadacona, Bytown, ON, Greenwood, and Avalon and CFS St. John’s,<br />
Newfoundland. William has been a member of Clementsport <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #122<br />
for 41 years.<br />
