road, 1,000 feet southeast <strong>of</strong> road in Coahulla Creek flood plain; <strong>Whitfield</strong> County,<br />

<strong>Georgia</strong>; USGS topographic quadrangle, Dalton North, GA (1972); lat. 34 degrees 51<br />

minutes 04 seconds N. <strong>and</strong> long. 84 degrees 55 minutes 40 seconds W.<br />

Ap—0 to 6 inches; brown (10YR 4/3) silt loam; weak fine granular structure; very<br />

friable; common fine roots; moderately acid; abrupt smooth boundary.<br />

AB—6 to 13 inches; brown (10YR 5/3) silt loam; weak medium subangular blocky<br />

structure; friable; few very fine <strong>and</strong> fine roots; few fine distinct grayish brown (2.5Y<br />

5/2) iron depletions; moderately acid; gradual wavy boundary.<br />

Bw—13 to 18 inches; brown (10YR 5/3) silt loam; weak medium subangular blocky<br />

structure; friable; few very fine <strong>and</strong> fine roots; few medium faint dark yellowish<br />

brown (10YR 4/4) masses <strong>of</strong> oxidized iron; common medium distinct grayish<br />

brown (2.5Y 5/2) iron depletions; moderately acid; clear wavy boundary.<br />
