Bt1—15 to 28 inches; light olive brown (2.5Y 5/6) silty clay; strong medium subangular<br />

blocky structure; firm; few fine roots; common distinct clay films on faces <strong>of</strong> peds;<br />

common medium faint strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) <strong>and</strong> common medium prominent<br />

yellowish red (5YR 5/6) masses <strong>of</strong> oxidized iron; very strongly acid; gradual wavy<br />

boundary.<br />

Bt2—28 to 34 inches; light olive brown (2.5Y 5/6) silty clay; moderate medium<br />

subangular blocky structure; firm; common distinct clay films on faces <strong>of</strong> peds;<br />

common medium faint strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) masses <strong>of</strong> oxidized iron; few<br />

medium prominent light gray (10YR 7/1) iron depletions; moderately acid; clear<br />

irregular boundary.<br />

BC—34 to 38 inches; variegated light olive brown (2.5Y 5/6), strong brown (7.5YR<br />

5/6), <strong>and</strong> light gray (10YR 7/1) silty clay loam; weak medium subangular blocky<br />

structure; firm; moderately acid; abrupt irregular boundary.<br />

Cr—38 to 60 inches; multicolored, rippable shale bedrock bedded at angles from 35 to<br />

90 degrees.<br />
