A—0 to 5 inches; dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) very channery loam; weak fine<br />

granular structure; very friable; common fine <strong>and</strong> medium roots; 35 percent shale<br />

channers; strongly acid; clear wavy boundary.<br />

Bw—5 to 10 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) very channery loam; weak fine<br />

subangular blocky structure; friable; few fine <strong>and</strong> medium roots; 50 percent shale<br />

channers; very strongly acid; clear irregular boundary.<br />

Cr—10 to 60 inches; multicolored, rippable shale bedrock.<br />
