A—0 to 6 inches; dark brown (10YR 3/3) loam; weak fine granular structure; very<br />

friable; many very fine, fine, medium, <strong>and</strong> coarse roots; 5 percent gravel; strongly<br />

acid; clear wavy boundary.<br />

BA—6 to 12 inches; dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) fine s<strong>and</strong>y loam; weak medium<br />

granular structure <strong>and</strong> weak fine subangular blocky structure; very friable; many<br />

very fine, fine, medium, <strong>and</strong> coarse roots; 10 percent gravel; very strongly acid;<br />

gradual wavy boundary.<br />

Bt1—12 to 24 inches; dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) gravelly s<strong>and</strong>y clay loam; weak<br />

fine subangular blocky structure; very friable; common very fine, fine, medium, <strong>and</strong><br />

coarse roots; few faint clay films on faces <strong>of</strong> peds; 15 percent gravel; very strongly<br />

acid; clear wavy boundary.<br />

Bt2—24 to 34 inches; dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/6) gravelly s<strong>and</strong>y clay loam; weak<br />

medium subangular blocky structure; friable; common faint clay films on faces <strong>of</strong><br />

peds; 25 percent phyllite or s<strong>and</strong>stone channers; very strongly acid; abrupt wavy<br />

boundary.<br />

Cr—34 to 44 inches; metamorphic, rippable bedrock.<br />
