25 feet south <strong>of</strong> Loughridge Road; <strong>Murray</strong> County, <strong>Georgia</strong>; USGS topographic<br />

quadrangle, Cr<strong>and</strong>all, GA (1971); lat. 34 degrees 50 minutes 55 seconds N. <strong>and</strong> long.<br />

84 degrees 44 minutes 30 seconds W.<br />

Ap—0 to 9 inches; dark brown (7.5YR 3/4) loam; weak fine granular structure; very<br />

friable; many very fine, common fine, <strong>and</strong> few medium roots; strongly acid; clear<br />

smooth boundary.<br />

BA—9 to 15 inches; dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) loam; common medium distinct<br />

yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) mottles; weak medium subangular blocky structure;<br />

friable; few very fine, common fine, <strong>and</strong> few medium roots; 2 percent gravel;<br />

strongly acid; clear smooth boundary.<br />

Bt1—15 to 26 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/8) clay loam; weak medium subangular<br />

blocky structure; friable; common fine <strong>and</strong> few medium roots; few s<strong>of</strong>t manganese<br />

concretions; few faint clay films on faces <strong>of</strong> peds; very strongly acid; gradual wavy<br />

boundary.<br />

Bt2—26 to 34 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) clay loam; moderate coarse<br />

subangular blocky structure; firm; few fine roots; common faint <strong>and</strong> few prominent<br />

clay films on faces <strong>of</strong> peds; common medium prominent red (2.5YR 4/8) masses<br />

<strong>of</strong> oxidized iron; few fine distinct light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4) iron depletions;<br />

few s<strong>of</strong>t manganese concretions; very strongly acid; gradual wavy boundary.<br />

Bt3—34 to 43 inches; strong brown (7.5YR 4/6) clay loam; moderate coarse<br />

subangular blocky structure; firm; few fine roots; common faint <strong>and</strong> few distinct clay<br />

films on faces <strong>of</strong> peds; common medium distinct brownish yellow (10YR 6/8)<br />

masses <strong>of</strong> oxidized iron; few medium distinct light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4) iron<br />
