TN (1968); lat. 34 degrees 57 minutes 44 seconds N. <strong>and</strong> long. 84 degrees 41 minutes<br />

31 seconds W.<br />

A—0 to 5 inches; very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) gravelly s<strong>and</strong>y loam; weak fine<br />

<strong>and</strong> medium granular structure; very friable; many very fine, fine, medium, <strong>and</strong><br />

coarse roots; 30 percent metas<strong>and</strong>stone <strong>and</strong> quartzite rocks; strongly acid; clear<br />

wavy boundary.<br />

E—5 to 10 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) s<strong>and</strong>y loam; weak fine subangular<br />

blocky structure; very friable; many very fine, fine, medium, <strong>and</strong> coarse roots; 10<br />

percent metas<strong>and</strong>stone <strong>and</strong> quartzite fragments; strongly acid; gradual wavy<br />

boundary.<br />

Bt1—10 to 32 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) gravelly s<strong>and</strong>y clay loam; weak fine<br />
